He is survived by his wife, his children, a son-in-law and daughter-in-law, granddaughter, his four siblings and their spouses, along with nieces and nephews. He was married just 7 weeks shy of 37 years.
He had a wonderful 34-year career, that he was proud of, as a dispatcher and communications supervisor for the Carlsbad Police Department, Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department and Oceanside Police Department. He lived in Oceanside, California for the past 34 years.
He was originally from Dallas, Texas. He was a devoted father, first and foremost. He loved attending live local theater and enjoyed La Jolla Playhouse and Civic Center performances regularly. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick to help anyone who needed his help. He was thrilled to meet his granddaughter and to see his children happy, healthy, and successful.
A memorial service will be held at Pilgrim United Church of Christ 2020 Chestnut Ave. Carlsbad, CA 92008 Saturday, March 12th at 2pm. The service will be available in-person as well as online for those with compromised health or unable to attend in person. All those attending will be required to wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose.
