

ENCINITAS – Lucy Ann Mee, 89, died of natural causes on November 23, 2021, at Senior Care Services in Oceanside. She was born December 13, 1931, in Portsmouth, RI, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Bettencourt) Lacerda.
Lucy graduated from Roger Williams High School, class of 1949. Following graduation, she married Gene Mee, May 16, 1953, they started an extensive traveling journey which included Philadelphia, PA in 1954, where Linda was born; Hartford, Connecticut in 1957, where Gene was born; Bayonne, NJ in 1961, where Cathy was born, and many more moves before making their forever home in Encinitas, CA in 1972. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in 2015. Lucy was a loyal member of Saint John Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene A. Mee; sisters Mary Nunes and Belle Toner, and brothers Anthony Lacerda, Henry Lacerda, Francis Lacerda, and Joseph Lacerda.
Surviving are daughter Linda Saleski and her husband and Mark, son Gene Mee Jr., daughter Cathy Ladd and her husband Patrick; seven grandchildren, John Slusarz and his wife Kelsey, Peter Slusarz and his wife Jenna, Eugene Mee III, Casey Bull and her husband Shaun, Taylor Dunlap, Devin Ladd, and April Ladd; sister Dorothy Baccari; sisters-in-law Theresa Lacerda and Anna Lacerda; many nieces and nephews.
On Monday, December 13, 2021, a viewing (9:00 – 9:30) and mass of remembrance (10:00 – 11:00) will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1001 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas. Reception to follow at The Crab Shack, 314 Harbor Dr, Oceanside.
