Luz Reyes Montes was born May 8, 1924 in El Paso, Texas and lived there until 1999 when she and her husband, Alvino, moved to Carlsbad to live with their son and daughter-in-law. Luz passed away in the company of her family, at home, on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Joe and Jacque Montes; grandchildren Amy, Andy and Penny and great grandchildren Sawyer and Charlotte; and her daughter Lita Montes. Luz is also survived by her sister Margaret Genera and her children and her brother Hector J. Reyes and his children and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years Alvino Montes; her parents Jesus and Carmen Reyes and brother Jose Reyes who died in battle in Italy during WWII.
Arrangements are under the direction of Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary, and Crematory, Oceanside, California.
