

Mary Lou was born on August 25, 1934, in Loraine, Texas. She was one of 10 children. She was the daughter of Andres and Cleotilde, who preceded her in death. 7 of her siblings also preceded her in death, one of which was her twin sister, Antonia, who passed away shortly after birth.
Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her daughter, Annie Quiroz and her son, Tony Hernandez.
Mary Lou is survived by her children; Ruben Hernandez, Suzanne Castro (Ralph), and Martha Grijalva. As well as her younger brother Andy Cienega (Jean).
She leaves behind a lasting legacy through her 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
A woman of quiet strength and deep love for family and faith, Mary Lou found joy in in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed embroidery, completing puzzles, listening to music, and most of all, caring for her beautiful flowers. Her gentle nature and nurturing spirit touched all who knew her.
Mary Lou's memory will be cherished by her family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her, and her love, kindness, and warmth.
A viewing will be held at Eternal Hills Mortuary, 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, Ca 92054, on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, from 4-8pm; A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 13th, 2025, at 1pm, at Mission San Luis Rey, in their Chapel, 4070 Mission Ave., Oceanside, Ca, 92057; Burial at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, will follow the Mass; A Celebration of Life Reception will follow the burial at The Auditorium, 3096 Harding Street, Carlsbad, Ca 92008, from 3pm - 6:30pm.
