Ramon Benito Estevez

Ramon Benito Estevez passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, in Oceanside, CA at the age of 87. Ramon was the 3rd born child (second son) of Francisco Estevez and Maria de Jesus Estevez. He was born on October 18, 1936, in the town of San Andres Ixtlan in Jalisco, Mexico where he lived during his early childhood.

A noble and kind-hearted young man, he left his native country at age 15 to be a migrant farm worker in the United States. His motivation was to help support his mother and younger siblings who remained in Mexico. By age 18, he became a permanent resident of the United States and wholeheartedly dedicated himself to pursue a better life. During that time, he traveled to Jalisco, Mexico frequently to visit his family.

In 1958 at the age of 22, Ramon married his beloved wife, Teresa Rojas de Estevez who lived in San Andres Ixtlan in Jalisco, Mexico. They moved to Encinitas, California, and resided there for many years while raising their 4 children in a small beautiful town near the ocean beach.

After several years of hard farm labor, he became self-employed and started his own small business as a landscaper and gardener. He was diligent in his work and retired at 80 years old. Ramon was a kind man and helped many families immigrate to the United States, so they would also have the opportunity to seek a better future.

He was known for being a big fan of the baseball team, San Diego Padres, and for his famous moonshine punch, “Ponche de Granada”, made from pomegranates. He loved to share with family and friends when they visited. Ramon’s greatest love and joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always present at all sports games and attended school events and extracurricular activities.

Despite coming from humble beginnings, Ramon was always grateful for his roots and had great affection for the place where he was born. He worked hard and made every effort to get ahead in life. During the most difficult moments in his life, his fortitude and trust in God never vanished. Ramon instilled good moral values in his family and taught them to stand firm in adversity. His kindness and generosity touched many, and his memory will live in our hearts forever.

Ramon Benito Estevez falleció el día Viernes, 26 de Abril de 2024 en Oceanside, CA a la edad de 87 años. Ramon fue el tercer hijo (segundo hijo varón) nacido de Francisco Estevez y Maria de Jesus Estevez. El nació el 18 de Octubre de 1936 en el pueblo de San Andres Ixtlan en Jalisco, México donde vivió durante su infancia.

Un joven noble y de buen corazón, dejó su país natal a los 15 años para trabajar como jornalero agrícola migrante en los Estados Unidos. Su motivación fue ayudar a mantener a su madre y a sus hermanos menores quienes permanecieron en México. A los 18 años obtuvo su residencia permanente de los Estados Unidos y se dedicó de todo corazón a buscar una vida mejor. Durante ese tiempo, viajó frecuentemente a Jalisco, México para visitar a su familia.

En 1958 a la edad de 22 años, Ramon contrajo matrimonio con su amada esposa Teresa Rojas de Estevez, quien vivía en San Andrés Ixtlán, Jalisco, Mexico. Después se mudaron a Encinitas, California, un pequeño y hermoso pueblo cerca de la playa, en donde residieron por muchos años mientras criaban a sus 4 hijos.

Después de varios años de arduo trabajo agrícola, él comenzó su propio negocio pequeño como jardinero. Fue diligente en su trabajo y se retiró a los 80 años de edad. Ramon fue un hombre bondadoso y ayudó a muchas familias a emigrar a los Estados Unidos para que ellos también tuvieran la oportunidad de buscar un futuro mejor.

Era conocido por ser un gran fanatico del equipo de béisbol, Los Padres de San Diego y por su famoso “Ponche de Granada” (moonshine punch), elaborado con granadas. Le encantaba compartir con familiares y amigos cuando lo visitaban. La mayor alegría de Ramon fue pasar tiempo con sus nietos y bisnietos. Siempre estuvo presente en todos los juegos deportivos y asistió a los eventos y actividades escolares.

Apesar de tener origen humilde, Ramon siempre estaba agradecido por sus raíces y tuvo un gran cariño por el lugar en donde nació. Siempre se esforzó por salir adelante, aprovechando cada oportunidad para crecer. Durante los momentos más difíciles de su vida, su fortaleza y confianza en Dios nunca desfallecieron. Ramon inculco buenos valores morales a su familia y les enseñó a mantenerse firmes en la adversidad. Su bondad y generosidad conmovieron a muchos y su memoria vivirá en nuestros

corazones para siempre.
