Richard D. Tasker, age 85, passed away peacefully to meet the Lord on May 2, 2016. A recent resident of Las Palmas in Laguna Woods, CA, he is survived and missed by his wife of 64 years Eleanor, his son Richard E. (Janna) Tasker, two daughters Janice (Michael) Baker and Christine (Willard) Brakman, and four grandchildren. Dick was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. After serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and a stint at Syracuse University, he pursued a career in real estate and construction. He joined the New York State Division of Equalization and Assessment and the family relocated to Valatie, NY in the late 1970s. Dick retired from his position as Deputy Director of the agency in 1992. Thereafter, he and Eleanor relocated to Phoenix, AZ, and more recently to southern California, to be closer to family.
Dick was a man of many interests, serving in his church in various capacities as well as social organizations. He loved the outdoors, golf, hunting and camping, but most of all family and friends. A private service for family will be held in June in Oceanside, CA.
