Roscoe Leroy Frazier Jr. was born on August 30, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Roscoe and Barbara Frazier, who preceded him in death. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Evan and Lahoma Murphy, who also preceded him in death, along with his sister, Jackie Patterson. From his earliest days, Roscoe’s life was shaped by faith, family, and a deep sense of responsibility to love others well.
At a young age, Roscoe gave his life to Christ at West End Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky, under the leadership of Dr. Lincoln N. Bingham. His faith was not merely something he professed, but something he lived-daily, quietly, and consistently. He was a proud graduate of Louisville Male High School, Class of 1974, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1982. He later obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Indianapolis in 1990. Roscoe devoted his professional career to the biotechnology industry and retired from Abbott, where his integrity, work ethic, and steady leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends.
Roscoe was a giant in hospitality and friendliness. He had a rare gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and truly seen. Whether you knew him for a moment or for a lifetime, Roscoe treated everyone with kindness, dignity, and respect. He listened without judgment, offered wisdom without pretense, and gave his time generously. His presence brought comfort, his laughter brought ease, and his counsel brought clarity. In the days since his passing, the outpouring of love stands as testimony to how deeply he was cherished—not only as a husband and father, but as a loyal friend, mentor, and confidant to many. Roscoe believed relationships were sacred, and he nurtured them with intention and grace.
Above all, Roscoe treasured his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 43 years, Angela Nobles Frazier; his son, Roscoe (Ke’Anna) Frazier III of Vista, California; and his adored granddaughter, Ka’Miyah Frazier, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his siblings: Jesse Kinzer (cousin/brother), Anita Jones, Robert Frazier, and Victoria Jessup, all of Louisville, Kentucky, and Marie Howard of Indianapolis, Indiana. His surviving in-laws include Paula Jackson; Linda Carol (Patrick) Green (cousin/sister) of Pell City, Alabama; Dr. Serena Satcher (cousin/sister) of Dunwoody, Georgia; and Dr. Katrina (Lawrence) Sayles (cousin/sister) of Coppell, Texas. He also leaves five godchildren—Stephen (Angela) Wilson, Jr., Brian Keith Gary, Ian Gary, Janae Frazier, and Josh Frazier—along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends near and far.
