He is preceded in death by Obdulia Leon Varela.
He is survived by sons: Elias Varela, Jose Varela, Gregorio Varela, Lorenzo Varela, Ruben Varela, daughters: Alicia Rivas, Elvira Topete, Maria De Los Angeles Calderon, Carolina Garcia, Elizabeth; 32 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fallbrook Apostolic Assembly at 135 E. Ivy Street, Fallbrook, California, 92028.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:00 am at Fallbrook Apostolic Assembly at 135 E. Ivy Street, Fallbrook, California, 92028.
Ruben's final resting place will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside, California.
