Ruth Contreras Garcia

Ruth Contreras Garcia (Cuca) July 27, 1938 - May 22, 2010 She was called to serve our lord. She was preceded in death by Gaspar and Sofia Contreras, grandson Tito Floyd Garcia and Great-granddaughter, Graciela Angelina Gastelum. Ruth was married for over 50 years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She met her husband while he was serving in the USMC. They met and started a family. She is survived by her husband, Jose M. Garcia, son, Joe (Rosa) Garcia, daughter, Sofia (Frank) Gastelum, son, Joel M. Garcia, son, Gabriel (Linda) Garcia, and her blessed special great-grandson, Nico Casteneda. Ruth was raised in Stuart farms. She was a native of California. She loved being outdoors, gardening, and painting. Her passion was cooking and spending time with family. She gave back to the community by supporting those in need. In her last hour she was surrounded by her sisters, Angie, Isabelle, Rosie, Carmen, and Sandra, brother, Clem, honorary daughters, Kelly Stermer and Christina Garcia, many nieces and nephews, and god-children, Edna and Bobby Jr. Alvarado. We would like to thank Seasonal Hospice of Vista and California Avenue School in Vista. Her greatest possessions and accomplishments are her grandchildren, Pricilla, Frankie, Robert, Monique, Joey, Chris, Gabriel, Jade, Janell, Joel, Gilbert, and great-grandchildren, Donavan, Pricilla, Tito, Mariah, Isaiah, Jesiah, Stephanie, Valeria, Margarita, Sofia, Alyssa, Eddie, and Chayla.
