Thomas Joseph Hurley

Tom was born to the late Ronald Hurley and Jeanne (Gottschalk) Hurley on September 6th, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from James Monroe High School in 1969, Northridge State College and received his Juris Doctor Degree from the William Howard Taft University School of Law February 23rd, 1994. Tom was certified to practice law by the California Supreme Court and the United States Southern California District Court in 1998, and spent the rest of his life focused on Real Estate Law.

Tom Hurley was a lover of laughter, life, and people. Never one to sit still, he enjoyed traveling, surfing, bike riding, and golf up until the day of his death. He was never far from the ocean, choosing to live in Santa Cruz and throughout San Diego North County through most of his adult life.

Tom is survived by his son Thomas Ryan Hurley of Oceanside, CA, his partner of 17 years Monetta Allison of Escondido, CA. her children Jamie Tighe, Tracie Allison, and Michel Allison, her grandchildren Winter Tighe, Kaylie Fletcher, Ireland Tighe, and John Tighe as well as his sisters; Kathleen (Galen) James, Maureen (Dale) Barney and Coleen (Mike Bangs) Hurley as well as his uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Eternal Hills Cemetery of Oceanside, CA April 5th, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm. A Celebration of Life BBQ will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn of Carlsbad, CA the following day, April 6th, 2013, from 11am to 4pm.

The family is encouraging friends of Tom to bring photos to share to the Celebration of Life on Saturday.
