

She was a loving wife, sister, and aunt. Virginia is survived by her loving family sister: Ione L. Sidle, Nephews and Wives, Ken and Kathleen Sidle, Tom and Jean Sidle, great-nephew and nieces, Makenna, Reilly, Allison Travis, Lauren, Elizabeth, Ian, and David.
A service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 1:30 pm Military funeral 2:00 pm at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
A native of Northern Indiana, of Swedish descent, I am 5'6”, weigh 126 pounds, and am in excellent health. I am divorced, with no children, own an automobile, and am buying a beach cottage. I am free to travel.
Graduating as high school valedictorian, I completed business/secretarial training at South Bend College of Commerce prior to enlistment in the Navy WAVES. My service in Communications (SpQ, 1st Class) ended with an honorable discharge after three years in Washington, D.C.
Relocating in California completing a year of college, I graduated from Wright-MacMahon, the finest secretarial school on the West Coast.
Since that time I have been employed as a private/executive secretary in a wide spectrum of varied experience and proven ability. This has included contact with architects, lawyers, physicists, retail shops, realtors, psychologist, and others. Areas of employment have included working with personnel; selling; customer and public relations; administrative coordination; technical and statistical typing; social events planning; original art creations;
Additionally, I have had some training in art, interior design, TV workshop, on-stage singing performance chorus and am beginning little theater. I also hold a California real estate license.

I can work well on my own, am a self-starter, able to take the initiative; I have a patient, understanding attitude, and a special sense of humor! Other duties include book and supply sales, receiving numerous business and member callers; staff secretary to several committees requiring taking minutes transcription for members. Secretarial assignment to Education Committee of the Board;
The position required initiative, ingenuity, and the ability to perform a great variety of duties. It is a "people business" which I have enjoyed;

Continued employment as Executive Secretary to Mr. Lombardo who accepted position of Sr. Vice President with California Real Estate Association (Now California Association of Realtors) in Los Angeles -- then had some 70,000 members.
First day on the job took me to Monterey, California, where I assisted with quarterly 3-day state Directors' meetings, including impromptu coverage of some Committee meetings by Minutes and transcription (Regional Vice Presidents, Scholarship Foundation, and Membership Committee);
Assisted with Association convention in San Diego (some 5,000 people), coverage as above.
This California Association of Realtors has a membership of some 70,000 and covers some 171 local California Boards of Real Estate;
March/June 1974
Returned to La Jolla. Set up part-time secretarial service in my home. Projects included preparation of 350 names, Hand-lettered addressed invitations and arrange for garden party in Bel Air (W. Los Angeles), with complete follow-through and accompanied guests on chartered bus.
July 1974 - April 1975
Administrative Coordinator for the Innovative Group, La Jolla, (Company develops and markets educational training programs).

Secretary to Robert G. Kaplan, Ph.D., (Psychologist, La Jolla); formed La Jolla Group (3 psychologists, 1 psychiatrist, 2 psych assistants).

My interests include "person, places, ideas, and things" I enjoy art/design, music, philosophy, writing, morning walks on beach.
Hobbies include dressmaking, hand-lettering and greeting card design.
Membership in Torrey Pines Chapter of Sweet Adelines barbershop Harmony), in which I have Historian (created original annual scrapbook); recording secretary; and currently publicity chairman.
I also enjoy travel and have vacationed 6 times by automobile in Europe and once in the Orient.
