We all remember the way she and dad loved each other and showered their love on us, her family members, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. The way she lived her life has taught us many values that we hold so dearly and are a part of our very lives.
Virginia Lee was born in Murray, Utah to James Leo and Grace Ellen Jensen. She had four devoted brothers that she loved dearly, Boyd, Jim, Bud, and Todd. She was a talented dancer and was crowned Miss Murray in 1941. Virginia Lee went on to graduate from the University of Utah with an English degree. She was married 60 years to Boyd Thomson, a Naval Officer and teacher and became a proud Navy wife. She loved being a mom, reading, dancing, shopping, and always found humor even in adversity. She was proud of her conversion to Catholicism during their deployment in Naples, Italy, and generously supported numerous charities throughout her lifetime.
Even in her golden years, she loved to shop, or have an occasional glass of wine or margarita. She took pride in showing off her flexibility in exercise class or superb dancing skills at the Friday Happy Hours at Las Villas de Carlsbad. She practiced yoga even before it was cool. She always ate healthy and took care of herself. Virginia Lee was extremely funny and witty. Even towards the end of her life, she never lost her sense of humor. She lived her life to the fullest and used every inch of life and joy out of her body, until she finally wore it out. She passed from this earth on December 20th, 2016, surrounded by her family. She went without pain and joined her husband, Boyd, brothers, Boyd, Jim, Bud, and Todd, her parents, Grace and Leo, and other family and friends that preceded her. She is survived by her four children, Boyd Rory Thomson, Corliss Bonner, Gina Davis, and Anna Rushworth; son-in-laws, Michael Bonner, Donald Rushworth, and John Davis. Daughter-in-law, Ruthann (Forbes) Thomson, as well as eight grandchildren, Ann, Mary, Nathan, Sara, Heather, Harrison, Jordan, and John Joseph, and nine great grandchildren.
