

A Funeral Mass for Anna Jean MacDougall, age 93 of Ogdensburg will be held at 11:00am on Saturday (February 8, 2025) at Notre Dame Church with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Friday (February 7, 2025) from 2:00pm – 7:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Anna Jean passed away on Saturday (February 1, 2025) at the St. Joseph’s Home following a short stay for rehabilitation.
Surviving are four sons Michael (Cherie) MacDougall, David MacDougall, Mark MacDougall all of Ogdensburg and Steven MacDougall of Baldwinsville; two sisters Eleanor Stevenson and Mary Rose (Tom) McCaffrey both of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Emily MacDougall, Elizabeth MacDougall, Rachel Hull, Melissa (Eric) Nord, Chelsea D’Eredita, Luke (Amanda) MacDougall; great grandchildren Lucien Hull, Harrison Hull, Payten Nord, Avery Nord, August MacDougall, Roman D’Eredita and Remi D’Eredita; step grandchildren Stephanie (Scott) Wallace, Ross Mayne Jr. and Lisa Murphy; daughter-in-laws Claira Seymour-MacDougall of Ogdensburg, Michelle “Mickey” Bennett-Moore of Florida and Lisa Jeanault MacDougall of Brewerton, NY; a sister in law Jackie Marlow of Shelbourne, VT; along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband Milo in 2008, and a brother Homer Marlow.
Anna Jean was born on January 12, 1932 in Ogdensburg, a daughter of George & Beatrice (Ramie) Marlow. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1949 and the St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing in 1952 as their valedictorian. She was later married to Milo MacDougall on June 27, 1953 with Msgr. Giroux celebrating their marriage. She worked as a nurse at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center and Barton Hepburn Hospital. She returned to the Psych Center and became their clinical nursing instructor until leaving to raise her family. When the kids were old enough, she went to work for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 10 years retiring in 1987.
Anne Jean was an honorary member of the Ogdensburg Garden Club, a Eucharistic Minister and taught religious instructions for Notre Dame Church, and a grateful member of ALANON for many years. She enjoyed flower gardening, quilting, playing cards, traveling, going to the casino, bus trips, spending time with family, cooking and entertaining friends for dinner.
