

A Memorial Mass for Carol J. Sharlow, age 78 of Ogdensburg will be held at 10:00am on Saturday May 9, 2026 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Visitation will be held on Friday May 8, 2026 from 12:00 to 2:00pm & 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Carol passed away on December 27, 2025 at Canton Potsdam Hospital, after a long battle with multiple health issues.
She is survived by her daughters Andrea (Ed) Skelly and Amanda Sharlow, grandchildren David (Michelle) Dalton, Jennie (Johnny) Earlywine and Joey Dalton and his fiance Alexis Poirier, her great grandson, her pride and joy, Knox Dalton and was looking forward to Baby Earlywine. Her extended family, Kitsey (Doug) Popple, her god-daughter Angela (John Harris) Popple, BryAnna (Antonio) McIntyre, Bryce (Amber) Popple, Nova, Journi and Maverick Popple. Her sister Joan Webb and sister in laws Onalie Beckstead, Beverly Mitchell and Gail Sharlow. Many nieces and great nieces and nephews.
Carol was born on March 22, 1947 in Canton and raised in Madrid, where some of her fondest memories were of her growing up as a farm girl. She graduated from Madrid Waddington Central School and the Watertown School of Commerce for Medical Transcription.
She married Ulla Sharlow July 1, 1967 at the Madrid United Methodist Church.
Her entire career was dedicated to Claxton Hepburn Medical Center where worked for 45 1/2 years. She retired on January 3, 2012. During this time, she developed life long friendships with many doctors and fellow employees, which she maintained throughout her life.
The things that we will remember most about Carol is her fierce love of family, her dedication to following sports, especially when it involved her grandchildren, being the life of the party wherever she was, what we were having for dinner and singing off-key.
She is predeceased by her mother and father Iva and Garnet Beckstead, her husband Ulla Sharlow, her brothers Richard and Ronald Beckstead, nephews Garnet Scott Beckstead and Peter Beckstead.
