Known to his network of friends and family as Denny, he played the guitar and drums often entertaining those in the mental health community throughout his life. In his younger days he could be found racing a dirt bike or riding in the NJ pine barrens. In ohmage to the family trips he had as a child, he took road trips across the US identifying foliage, meeting friends and having adventures.
Denny was a prolific reader about schizophrenia, the disease he struggled with his whole life. He found his strength in the Bible and once said, “Each time you read it, it plants a seed. Do you know how many seeds I have in me?!”
He was a kind and gentle soul often stretching out his hand to help those who plight he considered worse than his own. And to those he met in Fulton Rehabilitation Center in his last days he often would call out “I love you!”
