Eleanor Grace Leonard

Memorial Services for Grace Leonard, age 86 of Water Street in Morristown will be held on Friday (April 29, 2011) beginning with calling hours at 12:00noon until the time of the service at 1:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor David Sheppard officiating. Burial will be at Sunnyside Cemetery in Morristown with a reception to follow at the Morristown Fire Hall.

Surviving is her sister Betty Jensen of Alabama; five grandchildren Melissa Westcott & her companion Wayne Gardner of Lisbon, Michelle Hazelton & her companion Jeff Love of Ogdensburg, Jamie Hazelton & his companion Theresa Ward of Ogdensburg, Elise Boone & her husband Chris of PA and Jason Leonard of PA; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins. She was predeceased by a son Robert Leonard; a daughter Elaine Crosby; three sisters Margaret Carney, Ione Titus, Phyllis Washburn along with three brothers Glenn, Gerald & Delbert Youngs.

Grace was born on March 13, 1925 in Macomb, NY a daughter of the late Wayne & Edith (Wylie) Youngs. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1944, and married Robert Leonard on July 8, 1945 at the Heuvelton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Allen Bowering officiating their marriage. Robert predeceased her in 1989.

Grace was a homemaker for most of her life and was an honorary member of the Stone Church in Morristown. She enjoyed latch hooking, quilting, crocheting, knitting, crafts of all kinds and search-a-word puzzles.
