There will be no public calling hours. Mrs. Fritz passed away on Monday (September 12, 2011) at her home. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is her son Andrew C. Fritz of Ogdensburg. Her husband Donald D. Fritz and a sister Mary Louise Handy predeceased her.
Betty was born on July 23, 1920 in Oregon City, OR, a daughter of the late Andrew S. & Verle (Trimble) Simpson. She attended schools in Gatineau Mills Quebec and Ottawa Ontario. She married Donald D. Fritz on September 30, 1948 at the 1st Baptist Church in Ogdensburg with Rev. Arthur Kelly officiating their marriage.
She moved to Ogdensburg in October of 1942 where she worked as a secretary for the Ogdensburg Trust Co, Judge Murphy and William O’Connell until 1952 when she became employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center. She continued her employment as a secretary in both the medical and business offices until her retirement in 1981.
Betty was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed knitting and spending time with her son Andy.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to a charity of ones choice.
