Florence K. Roulston

Funeral services for Florence K. Roulston, age 94 of Hammond will be held at 11:00am on Friday (May 27, 2016) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Schirmer and Rev. Laurena Will officiating. Interment will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2:00-4:00pm with an Eastern Star ritual taking place at 3:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Roulston passed away on Sunday morning (May 22, 2016) at her home with her daughter by her side.

Surviving is her son Robert (Pat) Roulston of Harrisburg, PA; a daughter Joan Merritt of Hammond; grandchildren Katherine Merritt of San Jose, CA, Julie (William) Eppig of Mechanicsburg, PA, Christy (Timothy) Vorwald of Ambler, PA; great-grandchildren Christopher (Arin) Eppig, Erin Eppig, and Kate & Emery Vorwald; great-great-grandson Nigel Eppig. Her husband Robert Roulston and two sisters Glenna Killup and Anna Lepcio predeceased her.

Florence was born on June 28, 1921 in Chesterville Ontario, a daughter of the late Kenneth & Jennie (Barkley) Baker. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1939 and later married Robert H. Roulston on Oct 16, 1939 at the Heuvelton Presbyterian Parsonage with Rev. Bowering officiating.

She worked as an attendant at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center from 1953 - 1971, and then became employed at Potsdam State Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center until 1977 when she began working at the St. Lawrence National Bank as a secretary. She retired in 1982.

Florence was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Ogdensburg and a member of the OES St. Lawrence Chapter # 60 since 1946. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting, making party favors, cooking and baking.
