Joel J. Ward

Funeral services for Joel J. Ward, age 21 of County Route 10 Lisbon, will be held on Thursday (March 1, 2012) at 11:00am at the Lisbon United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Katrina Hebb officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Flackville Cemetery in Lisbon.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday (Feb 29, 2012) from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Joel passed away on Sunday (Feb 26, 2012) at his home surrounded by his family and loving care givers.

Surviving are his parents Shelly Ward of Lisbon; Joseph Ward & his wife Anne of Lisbon; a sister Jillian Ward & her companion Thomas O’Brien of Lisbon; grandmother Margaret Backus of Lisbon; nephews Thomas & Jaik O’Brien of Lisbon; Aunts & Uncles Jody & Donald Upton of Clayton, Susan & Scott Akins of Lisbon, Lonnie & Renee’ Backus of Madrid, John & Jean Backus of Collierville, TN and Jack & Joanne Backus of Lisbon; step-brothers John Convertino of Cohoes, NY and Nicholas Gravlin & his wife Renae of Massena; step sisters Patricia Convertino of Utica, Jennifer Blackmer & her husband James of Utica and Teresa Gravlin of Norwood.

Joel was born on December 28, 1990 in Potsdam, NY a son of Joseph & Shelly (Backus) Ward. He attended Lisbon Central School. He enjoyed Lisbon Youth Soccer, Cub Scouts, hunting, fishing, skateboarding and socializing with his friends and family.
