Surviving is his son Kevin M. McCarthy Jr., and grandson Jeffrey; five brothers David McCarthy of Florida, Eddie McCarthy of Ogdensburg, Jay McCarthy of Norwich, Pat McCarthy and Mike McCarthy both of Ogdensburg; and two sisters Robin Lee Madill and Kim McCarthy both of Gouverneur.
His brother Patrick predeceased him at age 9.
He was born on June 23, 1957 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of George & Sally (Herbick) McCarthy. He obtained his education from local schools and was later married to Kathleen Hanna in June of 1984. She also predeceased him.
Mark worked as a therapy aid in Medfield, MA and later relocated back to Ogdensburg where he worked at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a laborer. He enjoyed raising German Sheppard’s, gardening and fishing. He especially loved the outdoors, working for the McKeever’s at True North Pizza and spending time with his family and friends.
