Linda L. Bowden

Funeral services for Linda L. Bowden age 67 of Haines City, FL and formerly of Morristown will be held on Tuesday (Dec 23, 2014) at 11:00am at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor David Hart officiating. Burial will follow the service at Stone Church Cemetery, Ogdensburg.

Calling hours will be held on Monday (Dec 22, 2014) from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Bowden passed away at her home in Florida on Tuesday (Dec 16, 2014).

Surviving are her children Tammy Conger & her husband Rick of Ogdensburg, Bethany Covey of Florida, Robert Crosby & his wife Corrina of Hammond, Mark Crosby & his wife Shannon of Ogdensburg; Barbara Stevens & her husband Frank and Gidget Kimble both of Ogdensburg; a brother Al Ames & his wife Linda of Hardwick, VT; a sister Patti Cryderman & her husband Tim of Lisbon; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and a cousin Joe Smithers of Ogdensburg.

Linda was born on August 5, 1947 in Ogdensburg NY, a daughter of the late Alfred & Illeane (Smithers) Ames. She graduated from Morristown Central School and continued her education at SUNY Canton where she obtained her RN degree. She married Robert “Bing” Crosby in August of 1965. She was later remarried to Charles R. Bowden on June 20, 1981 at the Stone Church in Morristown with Rev. Lauderbach officiating. He predeceased her on May 14, 2010.

During her career she was employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, K-Mart, Cedars Nursing Home and United Helpers Nursing Home until she retired. Linda and Chuck moved to Florida and she worked at Wedgewood Nursing Home in Lake Land and later at Heritage Park in Dade City where she was the Assistant Director of Nursing until becoming ill.

She was a member of the Ogdensburg Zonta Club, NNY Corvette Club and in her younger years 4-H and FFA. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, traveling, NASCAR and spending time with her family.
