

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:00am at Notre Dame Church, with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Notre Dame Cemetery.
June is survived by her children: Mary Lou White, Patrick (Sue) Farrell of Ogdensburg, Terry (Kathy) Farrell, of Delmar, Katherine (Leon) LaRock, of Ogdensburg, David Farrell of Florida, and Michael (Jackie) Farrell of Rochester; a brother, Gerald Alkerton of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; a sister, Elaine (Dennis) Spooner of Watertown; a stepbrother, Robert Breen of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Jillian, Justin, Ryan, Kristi, Nathan, Cheyenne, Travis, Liza, Megan, Katrina, Alex, Benjamin, Jackson and Lauren; many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and step father John Breen, a brother, Ronald Alkerton; her son-in-law, Deacon John White; step brothers Ed (Margarget) Breen and Jack Breen; step sisters Sheila Cipriani, Ann Munro, Marylou (Jack) McNamara and Virginia (Frank) Groulx; and her beloved granddaughter and special angel, Brianne Farrell Sutkus.
June was born on February 22, 1934, in Edwardsburgh, Ontario, the daughter of John “Jay” Alkerton and Mary “Evelyn” Peters. June attended Canadian schools and was married to John E. Farrell on April 11, 1953, at Notre Dame Church, with Msgr. Charbonneau celebrating their marriage. John predeceased her on March 29, 1971.
June worked for 35 years as a nurse’s aide on the maternity ward at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital until her retirement. She was an active volunteer at Claxton Hepburn Hospital, St. Vincent DePaul, and Notre Dame Church, where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed spending time at Notre Dame Church, watching old movies on TV, listening to the radio, reading, babysitting her grandchildren and volunteering. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.
