Nancy H. (Denesha) Johnson, 68, of Ogdensburg, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at SUNY Upstate Medical Center. A loving sister, aunt, and friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at the Oswegatchie Mausoleum Chapel at a time to be announced.
Nancy was born on November 3, 1957, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Loucks) Denesha. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1975, and later in life, a marriage to William Johnson came to an end.
Nancy was a dedicated and compassionate woman who worked for St. Lawrence County Public Health as a home health aide for 32 years, retiring in 2007. Her kindness and tireless dedication to the well-being of others were a testament to her character. For Nancy, every person she cared for was treated as family, and her gentle touch brought comfort to many.
Beyond her work, Nancy had a heart full of love for animals, particularly her beloved cats and dogs. She found joy in crafting and spending time with friends and family. Her warmth, generosity, and quick smile made her a cherished presence in the lives of those around her.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Beverly Willix of Theresa, and several nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was predeceased by her sister, Sandra Knight, in 2019.
In honor of Nancy’s love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA. Condolences and fond memories may be shared online at www.foxandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
May Nancy’s spirit find peace, and may her memory continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
