Randy was a man whose quiet strength, patience, and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He carried himself with humility and kindness, always offering a calm presence and a genuine smile. His family, friends, and community were at the center of his life, and he gave of himself freely to all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Lemieux; his sons, Jason (Jackie) Bouchard and Brett (Patty) Bouchard, both of Ogdensburg; step-daughters, Jennifer (Matthew) Kennedy of Lisbon and Josie (BJ) Doyle of Ogdensburg; his father, Donald Bouchard; brothers, Richard (Tona) Bouchard of Parishville and Ron (Julie) Bouchard of Ogdensburg; grandchildren, Alexa, Gia, Jay, Abigail, and Melody Bouchard; step-grandchildren, Paige Carbino, Kalli and Cole Woods, and Harper and Jaidyn Doyle; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he held dear.
Randy was born on June 29, 1960, in Ogdensburg, the son of Donald and the late Janice (Henry) Bouchard. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and continued his education at Canton ATC. An earlier marriage to Memory (Massic) Bouchard ended in divorce. Later in life, Randy found lasting love and companionship when he married Jacqueline Lemieux on July 7, 2022.
Randy dedicated nearly three decades of service to the St. Lawrence County Jail, beginning his career in 1984 and retiring in 2012 as Jail Administrator. He was respected for his fairness, leadership, and steady compassion, qualities that defined both his professional and personal life.
Outside of work, Randy embraced life fully. He loved four-wheeling, golfing, running, boating on the St. Lawrence River, traveling, and spending time at camp in St. Regis Falls. He especially cherished moments with his grandchildren and took pride in coaching children and supporting youth activities. A premier road racer for many years, Randy also enjoyed watching sports and was a devoted fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees.
Randy will be remembered for his gentle heart, unwavering patience, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
A message from his sons – Dad, “Bouch”, “Rando”, was one of a kind. Anyone who knew dad knew the pride and work that he put into being a father. Oftentimes going without sleep, he dedicated many days and nights coaching numerous sports. Caring deeply about playing games the right way, he always emphasized teamwork and development over results; although he didn’t mind winning along the way.
A most humble man, dad truly knew how to treat people. Nothing exemplified that more than the relationships he fostered with his brothers, his friends and the friends of his children; he adored all of you.
Behind only the dedication to his family and friends, was his dedication as a New York Giants fan. During football season, Sundays were holidays at The Bouchard house. Cooking for these events filled him with great joy as he religiously prepared his Sunday Menu including chili, Wimpy Sauce, and his famous baked marinated chicken thighs.
We are so very fortunate to have been blessed with such a compassionate, caring, and committed father. He had many platitudes and sayings that he consistently preached. “Randy-isms”, as we all called them, mostly focused on fairness, dedication, and “being the bigger person.” The memories and lessons that we shared are more than enough to last a lifetime. While our hearts are broken because we no longer have him with us, we are confident that the world is a better place because Randy Bouchard was in it. Rest easy, we love you, Dad.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at a time and location to be announced.
Memorial contributions may be made in Randy’s memory to Ogdensburg Pee Wee Football, Kiwanis, or the Boys & Girls Club. Condolences and fond memories may also be shared online at www.foxandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
