Sandra L. Hynes

Graveside service for Sandra L. Hynes, age 68 of Heuvelton will be held on Wednesday (Dec 6, 2017) at 1:00pm at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Kevin O’Brien officiating. Mrs. Hynes passed away on Saturday (Dec 2, 2017) at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Surviving is her husband Bernard; two daughters Peggy Hynes of Heuvelton and Sarah Rybka & her husband Anthony of Ogdensburg; a brother William Morse & his wife Candy of Gouverneur; two grandchildren Jason Hynes, Emily Rybka and Hayley Rybka; and a special niece & nephew Misty & Ryan Morse.

A son Bernard Hynes in 1999 and a sister Elizabeth Morse in 1985 predeceased her.

Sandy was born on August 21, 1949 in Gouverneur NY, a daughter of the late Gerald C. & Mary (Mattison) Morse. She attended schools in Fowler, Gouverneur and Dekalb, and later married Bernard G. Hynes on November 23, 1972 at the United Methodist Church in Gouverneur.

She co-owned and operated a farm with her husband from 1977-2007 and worked at Macadam Cheese, Sara Coventry, Nice & Easy and McLear’s Cottages during her career. She was a member of St. Raphael’s & St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, reading, game shows and spending time with her grandchildren.
