Susan M. Holmes

Funeral services for Susan M. "Susie" Holmes, age 61 of Ogdensburg will be held on Saturday October 8th at C.S. Mulder funeral home in Sault Ste. Marie, MI beginning with visitation at 12:00pm with the service following at 1:00pm performed by Pastor Chad McDonald. Burial will continue at Lakeside Cemetery in Kinross.

Susie passed away Thursday Sept 29, 2016 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, N.Y. after a long illness.

She is survived by her mother, Dolores Holmes Cartwright of Kincheloe, three brothers: Richard (Tammy) Holmes, of Marquette MI, David (Bonnie) Holmes, of Dafter MI, and Jerald Holmes of Kincheloe and one sister, Sheila (Gary) Hatch of Hendersonville, TN, two aunts, Helene Watts of Waterford, MI and Dot (Jack) Whaley of Goldsboro, NC and one uncle, Frederick (Helen) Forrest of Brimley, and grandmother Barb Holmes, of Ogdensburg along with many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Susie was preceded in death by her older sister, Carol Jean Holmes and father, George Holmes.

Susie moved to Ogdensburg NY after graduating from Sault High School and made her life there. She attended Roethel's Ogdensburg Business Institute and graduated as salutatorian. She retired from the Ogdensburg City Police Department after 35 years of service. Susie was a kind and gentle soul who never complained, even when she was very sick. She will be deeply missed.
