

Funeral services for Tommy Lee Austin, age 36 of Ogdensburg, will be held at 11:00am on Friday (Jan 15, 2016) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Ogdensburg Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2:00-4:00pm & 6:00 – 8:00pm at the funeral home. Tommy died unexpectedly Monday (Jan 11, 2016).
Surviving is his mother Evelyn LaFlair & her friend Dan Dishaw who is also his god father; a son Urijah Austin age 6 and Austin’s mother Jessica Stiles; his companion Ashley Merrill & her children Olivia & Gander; brothers Christopher and Scotty Austin; a sister Barbara Austin; paternal grandmother Elizabeth Austin; uncles Shane Austin, Billy LaFlair & his wife Tammy; aunts Sandra Pike, Michelle Austin, Connie Austin and a nephew Colston Austin all of Ogdensburg.
He was predeceased by his father Leo Austin; grandparents Bill & Barbara LaFlair and Harry Austin; and two uncles Robert Hughes & Richard LaFlair and an aunt Pamela Austin.
Tommy was born on May 4, 1979 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of Leo Austin & Evelyn LaFlair. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1998 and entered the US Army until 2000 when he was honorably discharged. He later continued his education at Jefferson Community College.
During his career he was employed at Lowes, United Helpers and Duke’s Root Control in Syracuse. He enjoyed spending time with his son Urijah, fishing, working out at the gym, playing football and baseball, taking his son to extra-curricular activities, providing veterans with gift certificates for meals and fighting semi-pro on the “tough man” circuit.
