Cindy was born on March 27, 1948, in Minneapolis, MN, to Marion and Richard Emerson. She was raised in Minneapolis, MN, Joplin, MO, and Del City, OK. She attended Del City High School and St. Anthony’s School of Nursing, where she earned her Nursing Diploma. She was always proud to be a nurse and loved telling stories about her time in medicine. She met her then-husband, Dr. Steve Conner, and they were married for 23 years with three children. Cindy was a strong patriot who loved history, particularly learning about the US victory in World War II. She loved keeping track of the news of the day, especially politics, and would call her friends and family to keep them up to date. Cindy was proudly Jewish and always loved learning about the Torah and all the facets of Judaism. She loved to cook and was well known for her skill in the kitchen. Cindy lived with conviction, humor, and a fiery wit. She was tough, tenacious, and endlessly funny—never holding back a comment or quip. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Cindy is survived by her three children: Rhett Jason, Christopher Jordan, and Kelly Erin (Ferguson) and Kelly’s husband, Andy Ferguson; her grandchildren, Mia Grace, and Coen Henry; and her brother Michael Emerson. She was preceded in death by her mother Marion Emerson, her father Richard Emerson, and her sister, Susie Harris. Cindy is buried in the Temple B’Nai Israel Jewish cemetery in north Oklahoma City.
