David Houghtlin, 43, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on December 6, 2025. Born on October 27, 1982, at Scott Air Force Base, David grew into a man known for his hard work, quiet strength, and deep devotion to his family.
A proud graduate of Carl Albert High School, David built a meaningful career as a Grocery Buyer for Crest Foods. During a brief break from Crest, he worked at Lowe’s—an unexpected but life-changing detour, as it was there, he met the love of his life, Jennifer. The two married on November 13, 2008, beginning a partnership marked by warmth, support, and unwavering love.
David was passionate about soccer, OU Football, and OU Softball, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family. Whether watching games or simply being present in the everyday moments, David found joy in the relationships that meant the most to him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; his children, Caleb Houghtlin, Ethan Houghtlin, and Aiden Houghtlin; his siblings, Samantha Bates and William Houghtlin; and his parents Charles and Deborah Bates. David’s legacy of love, dedication, and quiet generosity will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
