Elmer Dale Barton was born November 12, 1934, in Wayne, OK, to parents George & Dorothy (Black) Barton. He went to be with his Lord in Heaven on June 5, 2015. He married Carol Robison on October 4, 1974.
A graduate of Wayne High School and Draughn Business School, Elmer worked in printing and advertising sales. He was a long-time member of Sooner East Church of Christ and an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and garden. He also enjoyed western movies, country music, and reading the Bible.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Don Barton. He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters: Leatress Collier & husband Kevin, LaDonna Smith & husband Brent, Dalene Barton, Beverley Coleman, and Amanda King & husband Nick; 7 grandkids; 4 great-grandkids; brothers: Dean Barton & wife Estelle, Rex Barton & wife Susan, and Rick Barton & wife Nadina; and many other family members and friends.
Viewing will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Monday, from 9am to 8pm with the family to receive friends from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel at 10am, Tuesday, with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
