

Elnora M. Tompkins born August 21, 1939, to Earl and Thelma Crisp Tompkins in Grayson, Oklahoma. She was the fifth of thirteen children. She accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age. Elnora attended Grayson High School and graduated in the class of 1957.
She met and married Othello T, Dotson (OT) on May 01, 1958, in Oklahoma City and to this union three children were born. Elnora and Othello loved to travel, take road trips and visit other family members as well as cruising the seas. The pair were in love and inseparable and always looked after each other. Elnora later attended college at Central State University which is now University of Central Oklahoma. Elnora worked at the Post Office before retiring in 1992 with 29 years of faithful service.
Elnora joined Trinity Presbyterian Church and was a very active member until her health start failing her. She had a passion for baking and decorating cakes and her hobbies included gardening, tennis, fishing, sewing, shopping and known as the family genealogist and would travel all over to find the history on family members and succeeded at doing so. Elnora took great pride in ensuring her family knew where they came from. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and she was loved and respected by many. Elnora enjoyed many things but most of all she enjoyed her family, and you could always find something cooking on the stove when visiting. She was known for her famous gumbo and word got around quick when she was cooking up a big pot. Her home was always open to anyone, and she made everyone feel welcome.
Elnora leaves to cherish her memory a husband of almost 67 years, Othello T. Dotson; Children and their spouses: Reginald Dotson -Smith (Marva). Renita Dotson, Ron Dotson. Her siblings: Barbara Hastings, Herman (Michelle) Tompkins, of Oklahoma City, OK, Theresia Tompkins of Grayson OK, Hollis (Artis) Tompkins Tulsa, OK, Thelma Tucker, Velma Tompkins, and Marcus Tompkins of Grayson, OK. She has seven grandchildren. She has five great grandchildren. She also has one great-great granddaughter. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Thelma Tompkins. Her granddaughter, her three infant siblings, her sisters Carolyn Phipps, and Jean Stevenson.
A visitation for Elnora will be held Monday, March 17, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 2:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
