Fred passed peacefully on Feb 21, 2025, after a short hospital stay following a stroke. He attended high school in Savannah, Georgia, and enlisted in the US Army in August 1971. He was medically discharged in April 1972. Fred married Patricia Ann White, and they had a son, Fredrick Roehl Jr., in 1975. They later divorced and he married Debra A. Pruitt in Oklahoma in February 2000.
After his military service, Fred had a varied career as a welder, aircraft engine and frame mechanic, and a long-haul truck driver. He retired on disability and focused on caring for his and Debra’s horses and dogs. Debra passed away in November 2023.
Fred's parents, William and Marjorie, predeceased him. He is survived by his son, Fredrick A. Roehl Jr. of Missoula, MT; his brother, Frank E. Roehl of Southern Pines, NC; and his sister, Roxanne Roehl of Missoula, MT.
Fred was known for his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and make friends easily. He is finally free from pain, for which we are thankful. Rest in peace brother!
