

Jacquelin Skelton Long was born on May 22, 1948 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Leonard Quentin Skelton and Marie Wilson Skelton. She graduated from Springdale High School in 1966 with a grade average of 3.96 and was Co-Salutatorian for her class. She was a member of the National Honor Society, National Forensic League with Degree of Distinction, Officer National Thespian Society, and was editor of the school radio program. She received the American Legion School Award for Outstanding Citizen of School and Community in 1966. She received the Arkansas Supreme Assembly, Rainbow for Girls first annual scholarship. She received the Don-Rey Media Scholarship and she participated in the University of Arkansas Honors Program for high school students.
She graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1970 with a degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting. She graduated with Honors, ranking in the upper ten percent of her class. She was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi national honorary accounting fraternity. She belonged to the Chi Theta business women’s honorary society. She received the University of Arkansas Scholarship for 1968-69. She also worked part time as a book keeper while in school, and had a Saturday morning radio program.
While in college she married Norman Long, who was also a student. After graduating, they moved to Tulsa where she worked as an accountant for Arthur Anderson and Co. She received her Certified Public Accounting License while there.
She and Norman moved to Oklahoma City in 1972 and she continued working for Arthur Anderson there. She retired from them to have children, but started her own part time practice at home.
She served on the Oklahoma Society Public Relations Committee and was a member of the Management of Accounting Practice Committee. She was a member of the Oklahoma City chapter of the Society of Public Accountants and the American Women’s Society of Certified public Accountants. She was a member of Leadership Oklahoma.
She also served as a board member, then controller, and then Chairman of the Finance Committee for United Methodist Church of the Servant. She was past president of Friends of the Library, and was a founding member of Impact Oklahoma.
She is survived by her Husband Norman Long; Children, Cheryl Melissa Morris and husband Jonathan, and Stephanie Marie Fox and husband Marty; Grandchildren, Aidan Morris, Lilly Morris, Matthew Morris, and Charlotte Morris; Siblings, James Skelton and Ron Skelton of Springdale, and sister Shirley Jackson of Oklahoma City.
A visitation for Jacque will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
