Johnny Jackson Elzey, age 74, of OKC, passed away on May 5th 2025. Born June 12, 1950 in OKC, Johnny was a proud Marine, a creative soul, and a loving father. He worked for many years as a press operator, but his passions extended far beyond the job. A talented photographer and graphic designer. Johnny had a deep appreciation for art and craftsmanship. He was happiest with a camera in hand or working on projects that blended precision with imagination. A spiritual man, Johnny felt closest to God when surrounded by nature. During his travels in his youth, he found peace and presence in the nature around him.
Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Verna and Dell Elzey, and sister Susie. He is survived by his daughters, Carrie Lee and Emily Joanne; grandchildren, Crystal, Rachael, Abigail, and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Aurelia and Elodie; Aunt Judy and her children; siblings, Cheryl and Michael and their children.
Though much of his later life was spent in solitude, and he became distant from loved ones in recent years, Johnny remained a deeply thoughtful man who sought understanding in his own way. His journey was not without struggle, but his love for his family and his passion for learning endured in quiet ways. He will be remembered with both tenderness and truth, for all that he was and all that he tried to be.
A memorial service for Johnny will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
