On September 24, 1945, Lannie Dean Moore was born to Robert Lawrence Moore and Donna Lee (Bourne) Moore in Enid, Oklahoma. He was the eldest of the siblings that followed (Phillip and Sandy), and a younger brother to the one who came before (Gary, from Robert and his first, deceased wife).
The Moore family moved to Pasadena, CA—where Lannie spent his youngest years—before returning to Oklahoma to settle in Blackwell. He was a hard worker, and as soon as he graduated from Blackwell High School, he took on employment with Blackwell Zinc, a local zinc smelting company.
On September 10, 1965, he entered into service with the United States Navy, where he served as a Machinist’s Mate Third Class (Petty Officer Third Class), tending to the boilers aboard the USS Radford (DD-446) destroyer during the Vietnam War. While it operated primarily out of Hawaii, its West Pacific tour took him through several Asian countries, including South Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, and the still-then-British colony of Hong Kong.
After discharging in San Francisco on August 4, 1969, he returned to Oklahoma, where he attended a vocational-technical institution in Bartlesville to learn printing. He then went on to work for several companies in the Ponca City and Oklahoma City areas such as St. Joseph, ConocoPhillips, and American Fidelity Association Co. He also contributed his time to the farm whenever his parents needed the help.
In 1979, he started working for Professional Bank Forms and stayed with the company when it moved from Oklahoma City to Oxford, KS in 1985-1986.
In a curious turn of events, an Oklahoman newspaper somehow made its way to the opposite side of the world…where in Indonesia, a woman (with a name similar enough to cause endless confusion for the letters and Christmas cards to come) responded to his ad. Their correspondence eventually led her to him, and on July 24, 1987, Lannie and Lanny (Kusnanto) Moore became husband and wife.
The couple settled in Oxford, KS, where they raised their daughter — Pamela Hannah Moore — born June 23, 1988.
After twenty-six years of marriage, God called Lanny Home. So, a couple months later, on October 31, 2013, Lannie retired from his 34-year career with Professional Bank Forms and returned to Oklahoma City to spend the rest of his retirement.
The last seven of these years were spent with his daughter, who, in 2018, returned from her time in the San Francisco Bay Area to watch over him.
After having been preceded to Heaven by both his parents, all his siblings, and his wife, He went into the care of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 20, 2025.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Moore of Oklahoma City, OK.
