

Lynda K. Kruse, 77, of Oklahoma City, passed away on August 12, 2024. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on June 21, 1947. Lynda graduated from Tuttle High school, and then continued her schooling at the OU School of Nursing where she received a Master’s degree in Nursing. Her passion to help others was evident in not only her career in nursing for Presbyterian Hospital and OU Medical, but also through the many organizations she was a part of including the Association of Woman’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN).
Lynda made an effort to help everyone she could throughout her life, but she also had a talent of making lifelong connections and friends. She was married to Bill Kruse on July 9, 1971 where they spent many wonderful years doing life together. Lynda enjoyed needle-work, reading, and playing bridge, and she made companions within all of her favorite hobbies! She loved spending time with her bridge group, book group, needle work group, her embraced French family the Kellers, and her coffee group, which are a group of friends whose children all grew up in the same neighborhood and still meet weekly.
Travel was also a prominent part of Lynda’s life, and the stories from some of her greatest trips will continue to live on. From her trips to the Enchanted Circle in New Mexico including her cabin in Angel Fire, New Mexico, to her visits overseas, and even going to see the Blue Bonnets in Texas with the Hamill House girls.
Compassion, friendship, adventure, and love filled every second of Lynda Kruse’s time on earth, and that legacy will be carried on by her survivors; children Jennifer Hollecker and Brian Kruse, grandchildren Danielle and Bethany Hollecker, and sisters-in-law Karen Lehr and Jo Soske.
