

He was the third of four children born to Albert and Eva Muirhead who preceded him in death.
He was a valiant fighter of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma for 18 years, initially losing his larynx in 2004.
A cradle Episcopalian, English through and through. Maurice graduated from St. Cuthbert’s and Carlisle Technical College, England, migrating to Canada in 1966 and the United States in 1994.
Initially employed by Atomic Energy in Switzerland and Oxford, England, he then spent an interesting career in mechanical design, construction management, along with estimation of pulp and paper mills, ski resorts, mines, hospitals, hotels, and Army base reconstruction in Canada and the United States.
He married Jean Glister in 1964, migrating to British Columbia where sons Phillip and Jeffery were born.
In 1993 Maurice married Carol Krehbiel Schrag. They resided in Canada, Washington State and Colorado before he retired in 2009 to Oklahoma City.
He was a lover of the outdoors and travel, climbing and sailing always his first loves. “To be on top of a mountain, or in a boat sailing is like being next to God." Boy Scout Leader and Adult- men's soccer referee, an avid sailor, hiker, swimmer, and singer. Gardening, reading, oil painting, mechanical tinkering, and dear pets filled his last years.
Maurice is survived by wife, Carol Muirhead of Edmond, OK, sons Phillip Muirhead, Jeffery and Viktoriya Muirhead and granddaughter Averyelle of British Columbia, Canada. Siblings: Donald Muirhead and family, Wemyess Bay, Scotland, Alan Muirhead and family, Toronto, Canada, Aileen Bulman and family, Carlisle, England. Extended family, Douglas Schrag, Susan and Tim Love, Elizabeth and David Brown, of Oklahoma City, Mark and Tisha Schrag of Wichita, Kansas, and brother-in-law James Krehbiel, Newton, KS and their families.
