Milburn ‘Roy’ Simmons, 81, of Edmond went to his heavenly home on February 24, 2015. He was born July 14, 1933 in Ardmore, OK to Milburn and Angie Simmons. He grew up in Ardmore, attended University of Oklahoma studying geology, and served in the army during the Korean War. He later married Virginia Epley, had a family, and built his career in home building. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, racing motorcycles with his sons, and spending time with friends and family. He always loved meeting new people and facing new challenges. But most importantly was his true faith in his Lord and Savior.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Milburn and Angie Simmons; brother, George Simmons; and wife of 47 years, Virginia Epley Simmons. He is survived by his three children; Rory Simmons of Oklahoma City, Traci and Jim McGill of Edmond, and Scott Simmons of Oklahoma City. His grandchildren; Rorie Simmons of Tulsa, Chase and Brittany Simmons of Tulsa, Bryan and Brittany Myrick of Brooklyn, NY, Lindsay and Nick Plants of Edmond, Nick Myrick of Austin, TX, Adam and Sarah Myrick of Oklahoma City, Colby McGill of Pensecola, FI, Brian Simmons of Houston, TX, and great granddaughters Kaiya and Mackenzie Plants.
