Richard Ira Waters

Richard was born on Sept. 6, 1940 in Paducah, Kentucky, to Ira G. Waters and Beulah Mae Mitchell Waters. He attended schools in Shawnee, Ok and Washington, Ok. He graduated from Classen High School in 1958. He specialized in Steel sales and later formed his own company in the Oklahoma City area. He enjoyed softball, golf, skiing, bowling and racquetball.

Survivors include one sister, Gloria Ann Rutledge of Tyler, Texas, one cousin, Nancy Baker of Nashville, Tennessee, children; David I. Waters, Jan M. and Curtis Crist, Richard A. and Tracy Waters, James R. Waters, and Lisa S. and Jeff Henery. Richard was very proud of his 9 grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews.

Richard loved his family and friends very much. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to our lives and his strength through the many physical trials he faced. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by those of us who were blessed to know him.

Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, November 5 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery Historic Chapel, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
