Robert was born 1/14/1934. His parents were George and Thelma Bierschank, they called him Bob.
He grew up on the family farm. He was an only child. As soon as he was able he began to around help the farm. He attended Cleveland one room school for 8 years, Deer Creek high school 4 years and Central State College 1 year. He played some sports, but was not very good at them, liked wood working shop and made furniture items that are still in use today.
By this time he was called Bob.
In 1952 he met Loretta Walker (known as Retha) at Falls Creek and they were married on 6/25/1954. They were married 58 years and 4 months. They had two boys (Larry on 8/14 /1956 and David on 1/10/1969) and enjoyed watching them grow up. From the boys they have four grandsons, three great granddaughters, and one great grandson.
They lived on the family farm west of Edmond, Oklahoma for a year and then moved to the new family farm at Warner, Oklahoma. They left the farm at Warner Oklahoma 2/1969, moved to Crescent, Oklahoma. Bob worked at Kerr McGee Nuclear Facility for six years. They moved to OKC 9/1974, where he owned his own business, Appliance Clinic, doing repair on home appliances until closing it on 12/31/2007 due to health problems.
Bob was on the original Board of Directors for Oklahoma Christian Schools. He was always involved whatever church he was attending at the time. One church was started in their home. When people were sitting on the stairway and cabinet tops it became time to look for a bigger place for the church.
Bob attended Crossings Community Church since 4/1997.
From 1980 until around 2008 Bob and Retha traveled around the USA to many places. Their favorite places were the Tetons and Yosemite. They also made trips in 1989 and 1991 to Israel, with stops in Egypt, Amsterdam and Rome.
In 2010 Bob and Retha moved from their house, across Hefner Road into the Statesmans Club retirement community. They enjoyed it and made a lot of new friends there. Bob was surprised to find six of the people there whose appliances he had repaired over the years. They sold their house of 35 years on 8/25/2010.
Bob tried to help Retha's last few years go as best he could, but her time on this earth ran out. After Retha passed away, 10/10/12 (just 5 days before her 79th birthday) friends at the Statesman helped Bob recover from his loss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta in 2012; father, George, in 1986, and his mother, Thelma, in 2007. He is survived by two sons, Larry and his wife Donna of Pennsylvania, and David and his wife Shelley of Oklahoma City. Four grandsons Jonathan of Texas; Ezekiel and his wife Hillary of Oregon; Daniel and Alison of Minnesota, and Dillon of Oklahoma City. Three great granddaughters Emma, Mia and Heidi.
