

Timothy was born May 22, 1936, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Wisdom and Lucille (Twins) Nibbs. Timothy is a Full Blood Cheyenne and is a member of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. He attended Chilocco Indian Boarding School where he graduated in 1955. Timothy started his Military career after High School with the U.S. National Guard (Army), 45th Infantry Division in OKC. He went on to serve with the U.S. Army until he retired in September of 1972. His Military career included service as an Airborne Ranger Infantry, 82nd and 101st Screaming Eagles Airborne Division (Paratrooper); Special Forces (Green Beret); And a Vietnam Veteran, where he served two Tours of Duty. Timothy is one of the highest decorated Cheyenne. His medals include; 2 Silver Stars, 4 Bronze Stars, 1 Purple Heart, Path Finder Badge, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry & Combat Parachute; H.A.L.O. Jump Wings & Master Parachute Badge; 6 Distinguished Unit Citations and 2 Presidential Citations.
Timothy was a Charter member of Glorieta Indian Baptist Church in the mid 60’s where he was ordained for the Mission field. He was Pastor of the Kickapoo Indian Baptist Church for two years and Pastor of the Fort Worth Indian Baptist Church. Timothy was a proud Veteran and Loved going to Powwow’s where he loved to Gourd Dance. Timothy Lived in Jones, Oklahoma With his Wife Jeri Nibs until his Passing.
Timothy will be remembered for his quick wit and his great spirit for adventure and Bravery.
He is survived his Wife Jeri Nibs, His Sister, Elaine Cowart and Brother Theodore Nibbs. His Children; Marsha Nibs-Lena, Tim (Che Bon) Nibs JR.., Anthony (Diddle) Nibs, Sandra Nibs, Willie Meko (Standing Bear) Harjo, Kiji Nibs Robertson, and Tia Nibs St John. His Step Children; David Williams, Shannon Brown, Jonathan Statum, Shelley Fertitta, Skye Melvin and Sonnet Slaveski. His Grand Children; Lesley Lena, Brandon Lena, Rullison “Jake” Lena, Anthony Nibs JR., Ronnie “Joseph” Roy, Elliot Roy, Ellington Nibs, Easton Nibs, Noah Wisdom St John, Savannah Maria de’ Lourdes, Aidan Lucas Gonzalez, Isaiah W Harjo, Kaya Ann Harjo, Kaitlyn Ruth Grace Harjo, Isaac Alexander W Harjo, and Gabriella Grace Harjo. His Great Grand Children; Kayla, Rayleen, Jayden, Alex, Addisyn, Tayn, Brendon, Roman, LaNiah, and Sade’. And His wife and good friend from his first union, Nancy Nibbs.
He is preceded in death by his Grand Parents, Baldwin and Nita (Twins) Nibs, His Parents Wisdom and Lucille Nibbs. His Brothers; Wisdom Alan (June corn) Nibbs, Reginal (Jeto) Nibbs, Ronald Nibbs and his sister Annie Lou Nibbs. His Grand Daughter Cheyenne Lily Vaughan Robertson.
Funeral Arrangement and Wake will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery 13313 North Kelley Avenue Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73131
Viewing will be Friday, December 14th from 9AM-6PM. Wake Service 6PM-8PM. Services for Timothy will be held Saturday, December 15th at 1PM.
