

In loving memory of Virginia Elizabeth Cunningham who passed away on January 20, 2016, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born to Arthur and Thamezne Stover in Ft. Scott, KS on August 6, 1922 and moved to Oklahoma City, OK when she was 3 years old. She attended Edgemere Elementary School, Harding Junior High and Classen High Schools. She attended Oklahoma University and OCU. She married Gene C. Cunningham on June 1, 1941 and were together for 59 years until his death in November of 2000. Since he was stationed in Abilene, TX with the 45th Division as a 2nd Lieutenant, that is where they spent their Honeymoon. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega for 60 + years from the OCU branch. Her interests included being a great cook and decorating her houses. She was a Charter Member of Crown Heights Christian Church. She had 2 children; Dr. Gene C. Cunningham, M.D. and wife Jeri of TX, and William Cyrus Cunningham of Oklahoma City, OK, Sister Marilyn Silverthorn, Parkland, FL, Cousin Barbara Cotzias of Tulsa/Clarmore, OK. and Nephew & Nieces: Robert Silverthorn and Wife Rusti of Louisville, KY, Marie (Betsy) Silverthorn and Husband Bill Giolma of Dallas, TX, Virginia Schulte and Husband Mark of Louisville, KY, Carolyn Bierman and Husband Mike of Parkland, FL, Sister In-law Helen Alexander of Bellville, TX and several Nephews and Niece.
Viewing will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the Service will be at Crown Heights Christian Church on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery following. The family would like to thank everyone at Integris Baptist Hospital and Hospice House for the excellent treatment given her. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
