Wilma Jean Rueb

Wilma Jean Rueb passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 from a massive stroke. She was born on April 8, 1928 to Grady Lee and Virvie Lou (Robinson) Yandell in Holdenville, OK. Wilma Jean graduated from Cushing High School in 1946. While attending high school she was a member of the debate team, the National Honor Society, the State Honor Society and served as the secretary of her sophomore class. She was nominated for cheerleader in 1945 for the Cushing Tigers and voted Band Queen in 1946. On April 6, 1947 she married Sherman L. Rueb and they had 55 wonderful years together until his death in 2002.

Wilma Jean loved mothering more than anything else in her life. She was interested in everything and was always hungry to learn more. She was a gardener, a Scrabble game "expert", enjoyed reading, especially murder mysteries, and possessed a quick wit that could match the best of them. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and left them with many wonderful memories. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ronald G.L. Yandell and three sisters, Erma Grace Rose, Emily Kathern Cotton and Phillis JoAnn Yandell. She is survived by one sister Ramona Brecht Rollings; two sons, Donald L. Rueb, his wife Jan Stewart, and Steven E. Rueb; two daughters, Debra J. Rueb, her husband Bill Brown, and Sheri Rueb-Mueller, and her husband James D. Mueller; three grandsons, Noel C. Rueb and wife Trina, David J. Thompson and Daniel L. Rueb; one step granddaughter Annie Mueller; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend the most gracious Thank You to the staff at Ranch Terrace Nursing Home in Sapulpa for making our mother’s last days as fun and comfortable as possible.

A Memorial Service will be held for Wilma Jean on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:30 am at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel.
