Barbara Annette Stokes

She was born November 13, 1937, in Andalusia, Alabama to Clifford and Alyne Adams.

Barbara graduated from Massey Business College in 1957. After college, she worked at Baptist Headquarters Ministries in Montgomery, Alabama where she met her husband Ralph Stokes in 1957. They were married in 1959.

Ralph was in the Air Force so their first home was in Minot, North Dakota where they lived for 9 months. They also lived in Andalusia, Alabama, and Fort Wayne Indiana before settling in Orlando, Florida in 1965 where they raised their family.

Barbara’s career culminated in a position at Job Services of Florida in Orlando where she retired.

She is a member of Conway Baptist Church. Anyone who knew Barbara knew her faith was first and foremost in her life.

Her hobbies and interests included studying and reading her bible, cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She never met a stranger and was eager to help anyone in need.

Barbara is survived by her husband Ralph Stokes, her two sons Jeff and Cliff Stokes, daughter-in-law Jeannie Stokes, grandchildren Leslie French and Julie Montgomery and their spouses Tucker and Austin and grandchildren Declan, Lorelai, and Atlas.

Services will be held on December 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill

Burial Services will be held on the same day at 2:00 p.m at Greenwood Cemetery 1603 Greenwood Street. Orlando, Florida 32801.
