Fela loved god and you could almost always hear her singing her christian hymms
If you were watching tv, listening to the news or just trying to relax, it didn’t matter to her,
She was going to sing and you would not dare say a word about it
She loved her family and felt the need to protect them even as full grown men and women
She needed to know where we were, who we were with and where we were going, age meant nothing to her
She was a phenomenal cook, never had a recipe for anything, everything was a pinch of this and that, no measuring spoons, no quantities,
Just great food
She loved cross stiching, gardening, and never had a problem asking someone for a plant if they had something she didn’t have. She just loved watching them grow. There was something amazing to her to plant a seed or a small plant and watch it flourish. She loved flowers, any kind of flower was beautiful and she always said only the god of hand could create such beauty. She loved to talk, would make conversation with everybody.
She loved life, helped many people throughout the years. She was 1 of the first Puerto Ricans that came to the U.S. in the 1950’s and 60’s
She would cook meals for many of them that arrived alone with no family, no one was ever a stranger. She helped them find jobs, and apartments and always made herself available.
She had a great sense of humor, loved to tell and hear jokes, loved Christmas!
She loved the word of god, she loved the bible, a bible always had to be opened in the house, that was mandatory.
She was very stubborn, and when she was upset, everyone knew it! She would speak her mind, she had a hard time keeping
Things that bothered her to herself. She said what she felt and felt what she said.
Overall, our mom was an amazing women, she was a fun loving mother and her family was sacred to her. Her children were not perfect, but they were her children and she allowed no one to say negative things about them. She was 4’9” tall, but tough as a nail, brave and feared only God! She buried 3 children, 4 brothers and sisters and after the death of her youngest sibling Antonio, her zest for life was never the same. She was anxious to join the family that she loved and cherished. We will miss you every day, until we meet again!
