Ferdinand Rodriguez Velez

He was born to the late Rafael Rodriguez Seda and Angelica Velez Velez on June 21, 1935.

He enjoyed dancing and watching sports, especially baseball.

He met the love of his life, Zoraida Mercado (deceased, 2020), in New York City in 1956 where they later had their first two children.

The family temporarily relocated to Puerto Rico where they had their last two children.

They later relocated the entire family to Miami, Florida, and back to Puerto Rico.

They continued to live their lives together while raising their four children, Mable Sanchez, Edgard Rodriguez (Mariesette), Ferdinand Rodriguez (Aixa), and Harry Rodriguez (Laura).

Ferdinand is survived by his four children; twelve grandchildren, Carlos R. Almodovar, Nadine Villafañe (Luis), Ferdinand Hayed Rodriguez (Katherine), Sergio A. Rodriguez (Marta), Krystal N. Bennett (Justin), Jamira D. Rodriguez, Kristopher A. Martinez, Sebastian A. Rodriguez (Nilmaliz), Edgard A. Rodriguez, Emilio A. Rodriguez, Emely Rodriguez, and Zacharry Rodriguez; five great grandchildren, Alondra Villafañe and Fabian A. Rodriguez, Paolo Rodriguez, Luka A. Rodriguez, Sofia Rodriguez; and a number of other loving relatives and close friends.

A visitation for Ferdinand will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817. A graveside will occur Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2420 Harrell Rd, Orlando, FL 32817.
