

Filomena "Fila" Gonzalez, of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, born on April 13, 1945 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico to the late Rosalia Cruz and the late Thomas Gonzalez, passed away at age 73 on January 1, 2019 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. She worked at Bradless Factory for 16 years and the Mayflower Retirement Community as a Housekeeper for 12 years until retiring in 2013. Filomena was preceded in death by her daughter, Filomena "Lucy" Muniz. She is survived by her son, John Muniz; daughter, Sonia Rodriguez; stepson, Raymond Caraballo; stepdaughter, Carmen Nieves; sisters, Luma and Adela; grandchildren, Micaela Blain, Wilfredo Guzman, Johnathan Muniz, Noel Muniz, Kiara Muniz, Richard Niever Jr, Issac Nieves; Loida Caraballo, and Justin Caraballo; great-grandchildren Robert and Abram, and friends, Irma, Sally, and Mary. Filomena loved the Lord and was a loyal servant. She enjoyed cooking, exercising and playing the slots at casinos. Filomena dedicated her life to helping her family, friends, and anyone in need. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always put others ahead of herself. She was truly an angel who watched over anyone who came in her path, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
