Geraldine Louise Bailey affectionately known as "Moms," "Grams," "Aunt Ger," and various other terms of endearment to family and friends was born to parents Ruben and Louise Knight Scale on July 21, 1918 in Santiago Cuba, Banes , Oriente Province and peacefully departed this life on July 18, 2018, 3 days shy of her 100th birthday. The middle of her parent's three children (older sister Ellen "Lar" and younger brother Lancelot), she lived in Cuba until the age of eleven years old, when the family immigrated to Jamaica.
In 1946, Geraldine applied and was accepted into Kingston Public Hospital Nursing School. While in nursing school, she met and fell in love with the love of her life, the late Albert C. Bailey. The two married after dating for about two years.
After arriving in the United States, the family which now included daughter Yvonne and son Lancelot, settled in Stamford, Connecticut. Geraldine continued to pursue her nursing career in Connecticut until retiring to Florida.
Geraldine was an avid church goer and loved to sing church hymms, namely "Soon and Very Soon". She loved traveling, gardening and caring for others. Her dedication to hard work was passed on to her children.
Although she has left us physically, her spirit will forever be with us for generations, present an yet unborn.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert, older sister Ellen"Lar,"grandson Michael and leaves to cherish her memory brother, Lancelot (Delrose); daughter, Yvonne; son, Lance; grandchildren, Angela (Ken); Mark (Bahiyyah); Kwame (Shana); 10 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren.
