A Life of Love and Devotion
Hazel's love story began at Winn Dixie, where she met her beloved husband, Frank Baldree. He worked as a meat cutter, and their connection blossomed into a marriage that lasted 52 years, until his passing. Together, they built a life centered on family and faith. A devoted mother of four, Hazel poured her heart into raising her children. She also dedicated 25 years to Orange County Public Schools, impacting the lives of countless students. Beyond her professional life, Hazel found joy in the simple pleasures of gardening, tending to her flowers, watching birds, and enjoying fishing, earning her the affectionate nickname 'the bird lady.'
Hazel's kitchen was the heart of her home, where she lovingly prepared meals for her family. Her famous scratch cake with homemade chocolate icing was a testament to her talent and a cherished treat enjoyed by all.
A Pillar of Faith
Hazel's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She taught Sunday school at Eastland Church of God for 40 years, sharing her love of Jesus with generations of children. Every morning, noon, and night, she prayed for her friends and family, offering comfort and strength to those in need.
Family and Legacy
Hazel was the daughter of Harry and Hattie Bass, whom she sadly lost at a young age of four. She was one of ten siblings, including Mattie Lee, Berta, Louise, Boyd, John Henry, Joe Ervin, Ed, David, and H.M. Hazel is survived by her children: Ron, Pam (and son-in-law Wayne), Daryl (and daughter-in-law Marla), and Vernon
(primary caretaker). She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Ronda (and grandson-in-law Jason), Mandy (and grandson-in-law Travis), and DJ; and her five great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn (and great-grandson-in-law Nick), Kristan, Madison, Hannah, and Justin. Hazel Loretta Bass Baldree will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her kindness, faith, and unwavering love will forever be cherished.
