

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the homegoing of our beloved Ivy Francis — a devoted wife, cherished mother, adoring grandmother, and a woman whose love knew no limits.
Ivy Francis, 96, of Kathleen, Georgia, passed away on April 13,2026
She was born on February 27,1930 in Kingston, JA to John and Margaret Roberts. While Ivy was primarily a home maker, living in Jamaica, a large amount of time was spent in the United States with her two daughters and their children. During her time in the U.S. she was a strong source of support for her daughters and grandchildren after the passing of both son in laws. Her care and support didn’t just stop with family. Ivy also provided in home care to an elderly client who very early on came to care for her like family.
Ivy Francis was the embodiment of grace, strength, and unconditional love. She was the kind of woman whose presence brought comfort, whose words brought wisdom, and whose heart made room for everyone. Deeply rooted in her faith, she lived her life with kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion to God and to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Roberts, beloved husband, Solomon Francis, affectionately known as “Sweet Sal,” with whom she shared a bond of enduring love and partnership, brother, Jack Roberts and bonus son, Sidney Francis.
She leaves behind a legacy that will live on through her children: her daughters, Thelma Broughton-Canady of Hartford, Connecticut, and Beverly Hemmings of Kathleen, Georgia; her sons, Eulet “Sam” Francis of Kathleen, Georgia and daughter in law, Therolongue “Terry” Cassel-Francis, and Errol Francis and daughter in law, Yvonne Francis of Virginia. Bonus daughters, Sonia Francis of Clarendon, Jamaica and Paulette Francis of New York and bonus sons, Lenford “Barber” Francis of Atlanta, Georgia and Vernon Saunders of Miami, Florida, Brothers, Lloyd Roberts of Canada, Leonard Roberts and sister in law Leonie of Miami, Florida, Joseph Roberts of Miami, Florida, sister, Barbara McLagan and brother in law Clifford of South Carolina.
Ivy was also the proud matriarch of a large and loving family, leaving behind a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her beyond measure. Her love extended effortlessly across generations, and each of them carries a piece of her spirit forward.
Ivy’s strength was quiet but undeniable. Her kindness was genuine and freely given. Her love for people knew no boundaries, and she made everyone feel seen, valued, and cared for.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find peace in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and resting in the presence of the Lord she so faithfully served.
Her legacy of love, wisdom, and faith will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817, US, on May 10, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, and then Graveside from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
